The Master of Fine Arts in Visual Art program is designed to deepen your academic understanding of various art theories, processes, and techniques. This advanced program will build upon your previous work, helping you gain an in-depth understanding of artistic processes to achieve a higher level of accomplishment.
The Art Department at MC believes that each individual’s talent is a gift from God. A Biblical worldview is the foundation of everything we teach, and our faculty strives to reflect this in every classroom and course.
Choose from a 30-hour Master of Arts or a 60-hour Master of Fine Arts degree. The areas of concentration are 2D or 3D, with specific focus areas within each concentration. Areas of focus in the MA or MFA 2D concentration include drawing, printmaking, photography, or painting. The 3D focus areas consist of ceramics or sculpture.

The applicant must hold an undergraduate degree in studio art with a major in either two-dimensional or three-dimensional art or have earned the equivalent undergraduate preparation in art (contact the Graduate Coordinator of the Department of Art for information on equivalency of preparation) with a 2.5 GPA or higher.
Applicants must also submit a current resume and a written statement of 500 - 1,000 words of the purpose setting forth a personal philosophy and professional objectives.
